Bands of Cypher Game I: The Guardian Tribe Puzzle
The Bands of Cypher Portal I plays a crucial role in the game. The better you are at balancing the Bands of Cypher,
the better your chances of discovering a Yumi. The Bands of Cypher operate on a simple principle of finding the exact
balance within the 5 common elements between our world and the world of Yumies - the precise balance of
Fire, Water, Nature, Earth and Metal.
Puzzle Objective
Balance the core by adjusting the elements on the bands.
Each band has a WEIGHT, largest band is the heaviest, smallest inner band is the lightest.
Each element has a WEIGHT, starting with FIRE as the LIGHTEST:
Fire -> Water -> Nature -> Earth -> Metal
How to Solve the Puzzle
- Select FIRE on all bands.
- Select METAL on the largest band (Band A)
- If the core is YELLOW (it is too heavy) then choose the next lighter element EARTH. Keep selecting the next lightest element
(NATURE, WATER, then FIRE) until the core turns BLUE.
- Select METAL on the next largest band (Band B)
- Follow the same step (2) until the core turns BLUE.
- Select METAL on the third largest band (Band C)
- Follow the same step (2) until the core turns BLUE.
- Select METAL on the innermost band (Band D)
- Follow the same step (2) until the core turns BLUE.
\o/ A portal will open and a Yumi will appear! \o/
NOTE: Solving the puzzle on Normal mode takes 1 charge in your Game Portal I.
NOW You have 2 Choices:
CHOICE #1: Solve the puzzle to find another Guardian Yumi (repeat the steps above)
CHOICE #2: Transcode your current Yumi to find more Guardian Yumies with similar traits. (Follow the steps in the "Transcoding a Yumi" section below)
Transcoding a Yumi: Overview
When a Yumi comes through the portal, they have 0% Nether. Yumies need to gain
100% Nether inside a crystal so they can Transcode.
BONUS: You can click BOOST in the crystal menu to INSTANTLY get 100% Nether!
"Transcoding" and what it does:
- Yumi transcoding will find another Yumi based on the similarities of their genetic traits.
- Transcoding has 100% chance to find another Yumi.
- Rez the Crystal
- Click the crystal and choose "Open Nether"
- Long-click (click and hold) on the Yumi and choose "Netherform"
- The Yumi will then go into the crystal and start gaining Nether
- Once the Yumi has gained 100% Nether you are ready to Transcode!
- TIP: Transcoding is the best way to get other Yumies with similar traits, helpful for completing your discovery chart and achievements.
- Click the crystal that has the Yumi inside at 100% Nether and choose "Elemental"
- Yumi has now transformed from the crystal back to Elemental form.
- Click the Game Portal 1 and choose "Transcode". The core will turn green as it waits for the Yumi’s interaction.
- Long-click (click and hold) on the Yumi and choose "Transcode". NOTE: Yumi must be within 10 meters of the portal.
- Solve the puzzle and a second Yumi will come through the portal.
- NOTE: Transcoding process takes 20-22 charges in your Game Portal I
